Muruvang lies at the foot of Jotunheimen in Sel municipality, 29 km from Sjoa, 22 km from Heidal and 45 km from Otta. The farmyard is set on a west-facing slope with superb views across the valley and the mountain massif. The buildings comprise a well-kept farmhouse, a secondary dwelling (kårbolig) with letting potential, a livestock building and an implement shed. The farm extends to 514 decares (daa) in total, including 126 daa of fully cultivated land, 19 daa of infield pasture and 280 daa of productive forest. It holds a milk quota of 82,045 litres, and gravel is extracted on the property. Both the pasture and the fields run right up to the farmyard, and the views over Murudalen and the peaks of Jotunheimen are glorious. Walks and adventures start right outside the door in every season, amid nature and silence that are truly one of a kind.
Muruvang sits on the sunny side of Murudalen. Several farms were established here during the settlement programme (bureisning) of the 1930s, and this holding dates from 1936. Sjoa is 29 km away, Heidal 22 km and Otta 45 km, the latter offering shops, schools, nurseries, healthcare and other municipal services.
The farm keeps livestock: milk production has been paused but not wound up, and there is suckler-cow production. The farm has a quota of 82,045 litres, with a further 10,000 litres leased. The land is in active use for grass production and is DEBIO-certified organic.
There is a written agreement with Steineide Maskin (Pål Torje Steineide) for gravel extraction on land belonging to property 172/5. The agreement was signed in 2020 and runs for 25 years. Between 7,500 and 10,000 m³ is extracted each year at NOK 10 per m³, and the deposit is estimated at 200,000 m³.

Ground floor (103 m²): entrance hall, kitchen, sitting room, three bedrooms, bathroom and WC. The roof was replaced in 2010. Main floor (600 m²): cowshed corridor with airlock, plant room, milk room with tank, cow and youngstock housing, a newer section with calf pens and a sick pen, concentrate silo, feed store, calf room, a bull pen on deep litter and a youngstock shed with two pens. There are 26 + 6 tie-stalls with steel fittings.
Garage/implement shed (66 m² gross), built in 1981 and converted in 2017 to include a deep-litter cattle shed alongside the garage/implement store.
The farm sits attractively on the slope down towards Murudalsvegen, with two dwellings in the farmyard. In total the property extends to 514.3 daa: 126.3 daa of fully cultivated land, 19.4 daa of infield pasture, 331.3 daa of forest and 37.3 daa of other land.
Land: The farmland is split into three parcels – one around the farmyard and two down by the river Muru – totalling 126.3 daa of fully cultivated land. The soils are mainly sand and silt, and soil samples were taken in 2024.
Forest: The woodland lies mainly in two parcels, with no registered key habitats. The upper parcel lies above the protection-forest line, so all felling must be notified. Three larger fellings were carried out on property 172/5 between 2011 and 2024, and felling is planned on 190/18. The total forest area is 331.3 daa.
Access is easy from Murudalsvegen, a municipal road. Heidal is 22 km away and the municipal centre of Otta 45 km. Water comes from a private borehole drilled in 2022, and there is a private sewage system installed in 2016.
Based on the asking price and one mortgage deed.
